boy-man

these lads of mine are such treasures- the are growing into fine young lads, I'm proud of their maleness and celebrate and encourage it everyday.  Sometimes their 'maleness'  baffles me, sometimes it frustrates me, but mostly it delights my soul...grow strong my sons, free in the very things that make you 'man'. l

piggy fun

Today I learnt that...pigs jump out of their pens sometimes
pigs run fast
pigs can swerve and squeeze where you think they can't
pigs like to chose the muddiest soggiest places to do the above
I also learnt that ...I can run too
that my girls get dropped off home at the perfect moment, to see a ginger pig streaking thru the secret garden and understand their banshee mother enough to run around behind him to turn him
that girls work together well, even when the said pig charges in terror at one of them
that there is alot of mud in the secret garden, and its slippery and it likes you to fall flat on your face in it
that you CAN run fast on sharp stones when you have to and you don't feel much
that you have a understanding boss, and can call her mid puff/run to cancel a meeting you are supposed to be at
that we have friends with motorbikes that come at a garbled phone call
that running thru the paddocks in a large cirlce 12 times is a bit tiring
that pigs get tired too, and eventually hobble and puff their way in defeat back to their pen
that 'encouraging' a puffed pig thru a small gate, in a dark closed barn is frustrating for all -things WILL get knocked over - glad not to be one of them
that mr granger is truly relieved and grateful for his fresh water and large salad for dinner tonight...que relieved snorting
...and I am grateful that Set can build a higher fence fast
...and for girls who sacrifice their clean shoes and stockings to mud and ALOT of running
...for motobikes and determination
...for electric fences that are turned OFF
...that sloppy mushy mud makes a softer landing than could've been
...and that we got the wee (or not so wee) ratbag back....and for Pippy alerting me that he was out - good dog.

may i bore you??

came 3rd overall in class and a mention in all curriculum areas! and throughout the year certificates in her sporting areas...

class award and 4!! school trophies for various amazingness + school dux, netball rep and top netball team.

this wee dude got the class award for literacy and numeracy, he should also be given one for spunk and ingenuity....!

they don't do kindy awards, but if they did he'd get one for consitently pushing his personal comfort zones, most imaginative and generally fabulous.

I know its not  nice to brag, but I am so seriously heart-swollen at these kids of ours, the effort they put in, the way they embrace life and give everything their best shot - their leadership skills, nuturing skills and kind hearts - such a proud Mama bear I am.  I am so very thankful for them - each one is a blessing beyond measure.

kindy boy

My 3rd bubby started kindy 3 weeks ago....for a whole 2-4 hours a week! Let me tell you this sent me into a spin! But I sucked it up and dutifully crammed his lunch bag full of goodies, and walked him up the hill for his very first day. I was amazed by him....not once did doubt flicker across his face, not once did he look worried or concerned, not once did he cling (and I'm ashamed to say I kinda woulda liked that!)....instead this brave lion-hearted boy of mine, strode in the gates, popped his bag on the hook, went and said 'hi I'm Jose' to the teacher and prompty jumped on the nearest scooter to do 'tricks'. His confidence in his accpetance of others, and them of him, his charm and his flirty wee grin, was for this Mama, amazing to see.

You know what, I felt like my heart would practically burst, with pride, a bit of sad, a sense of joy at watching this wee chick starting to change some of his fluff for feathers. He has now been the grand total of 4 times (in 3 weeks)...he is so exicted about his 'kindys!' ....today when we arrived to pick him up, he patted the kindy play van seat beside him and when I sat down he threw his arms around my neck and said "Mum I missed you- now I'm gonna drive you to the zoo"...and he did; me and his new friend that he can't remember her name. Sweet golden boy, I'm hugely proud of you, and I pray you'll always want to take me to the zoo with you.
