an Arabian night...

I have a LOVE of all food middle eastern....and red pashminas and lots of dangly gold jewellery and pretties....red lipstick and candles. SO thought I'd combine these things and we had a Friday fact n feast night....I spent a good portion of the day cooking up a storm, and loved it - made turkish pide, date and honey chicken tangine, herb couscous, and megdarra....with pear and cashew pudding....I love cooking non-boring things, not everyday things that I usually only have time for.
...it was Nyah's turn to invite some girls for dinner and to stay, so we roped them into that act too....they came over and the kids all found some facts on various middle eastern countries, and then the girls got dressed up, highheels, makeup, sparkly dangly bits, shawls you name it - they looked so pretty and darling...it was lovely listening to their giggles muffled behind the bathroom door as 4 girlies got themselves and each other ready. I soooo had to dress up too...The Man walked in from work with flowers and a bottle of my favourite perfume!! That really make the night special! (totally NOT the morn, so WAY cool in my world).

Candles lit, food served banquet style, eastern music playing in the background and lots of giggles with new facts shared....so fun, the only thing that could've made it funner is if my sisters could've been here to share, and their wee ones too....I so love a 'just because' occassional party!
